The “EU Opens Markets Summer School" has successfully wrapped of the first week in Zagreb. It is the third summer school in a row that SEELS is organizing in partnership with Europa-Institut (Saarland University, Germany) and with the financial support by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). The event traditionally received vivid interest from students as well as lecturers as it offers plenty of opportunities for exchange of knowledge, experience, and broadening of one’s own perspective in many aspects.

The first week of the summer school was initiated on 31st of August 2015 at the Faculty of Law in Zagreb. In the past week the participants coming from all SEELS member faculties and from Europa-Institut, could follow the lectures closely related to the EU open markets, the basic 4 freedoms of the same, and were able to actively take part in series of case studies related to these topics. The lecturers and assistants were coming also from the various faculties from SEELS member countries, which added to the improvement of the knowledge of the participants, as they were able to experience different models of lecturing and more in depth approach to the topics they were studying.

Within the frames of the first week of the summer school the SEE Legal Internship Pool was launched and presented to the students alongside a meeting with already well established young lawyers from the region.

The second week is currently being held in the Faculty of Law in Split from 7th of September including participation of a new set of lecturers from SEELS and Europa Institut, and as a final event a Moot Court simulation is envisaged.
