SEE Law Journal
The South East European Law Journal (SEE Law Journal) is a scientific journal of the South East European Law School Network (SEELS) that is published solely in English Language from its inception. The SEE Law Journal publishes high-quality original, double peer-reviewed scientific, review and professional articles focusing on relevant questions of regional, European and international integration of SEE countries, issues of legal reform and approximation with the acquis communitaire, best practices, in legal reform and unification of the legislation in the region of South East Europe and the EU.
The SEE Law Journal as regards its envisioned scope and content, makes available to a global audience a unique the South East European perspective on the vibrantly evolving regional systems, traditions and innovations of law in the region in the context of historical, economic and political‐legal transformation. As such, the SEE Law Journal has the potential to provide for a highly valuable, transnational platform to bring together legal academics and practitioners to engage in thorough exchange regarding the challenges and possibilities arising from the unique historical and geographical context across legal disciplines and geographical boundaries. Our main criteria for assessing submissions include originality, quality of analysis, potential impact, and relevance to contemporary debates. Our aim is to publish papers of high quality, that will contribute to the knowledge transfer and exchange of best practices with regard to public and private law, EU law, legal education and the legal profession.
SEE Law Journal is open for submission of articles prepared by the academics of the SEELS network of the SEELS members primarily, and with the amendment and broadening of the existing Editorial Policy the SEE Law Journal is also open for articles from individual PhD candidates from the SEELS network, as well as authors who are coming from the region but are not coming from the SEELS network itself. The only requrement is that the interested authors should be researching and writing on EU Law related topics such as analyses of EU Law related issues, implementation of the EU Law legislation in the region and local legislation practices, EU Law related news, book reviews, and similar.
The journal has continuously been published since 2014 till the present day, and has been significantly supported and strenghtened through the activities which were implemented within the implementation of the “Strengthening the EU Legal Studies in South Eastern Europe” (2017-2020) a project that was financially supported by the Erasmus + Jean Monnet. In 20221 the SEE Law Journal was officially registered on the well established Hein Online data base, and all of the published issues are available there as well.
With the new Editorial Policy the SEE Law Journal has now two fixed deadlines for submission of papers - 1 of April and 1 November each year. More in the Call for Papers and Gidelines for Authors.
